Crating of a Photon Genius

Recently, we have had the pleasure to crate these Photon Genius machines. These machines certainly define "Handle With Care".

First, the machine is wrapped by its parent company. Then, they deliver to us.

Once the delivery to us is complete and machine inspected, the crating begins. Since the photos were taken of this machine, we have slightly changed the process. The Photon Genius also gets wrapped before being crated. As an added level of protection.

The crates are custom designed then created. This shows some of the foam we use in each crate.

It takes finesse to maneuver this machine and place it in the safest position possible for it's travels. Next step will be enclosing the crate and sending it on its way!

Final destination! These Photon Genius machines really are pieces of art, on top of their impressive functions!

Thanks again!

Crating a Cruiser Moped

If you happen to have a cruiser moped you need crated, we can do it!
This was a recent job we had the pleasure to package to be shipped to Russia.
This bike was no ordinary bike. It is a moped cruiser with a gas tank and all!

First, we wanted to be sure the bike was properly strapped down to prohibit movement for its upcoming overseas travel.

This bike is pretty impressive!
We also made sure the gas tank had even more extra protection.

Wrapping the entire bike in our vapor barrier wrap was the next step. Because it could faces temperature and humidity changes during transit, the vapor barrier will keep it extra protected.

Once the vapor barrier is in place, we move on to finishing the rest of the wood crate.

Shockwatch labels are in place, all required stamps and stencils are visible, its ready to go!

And just a reminder, we can crate on-site, off-site, or build and deliver crates to you.
Just let us know what you need. Crating Technology services all of Arizona for your crating needs.

Vapor Barrier and Custom Crating

If you were ever curious just how our custom crating process goes, take a look....
In this example, we are protecting and crating a large piece of machinery.
It is a custom designed and built wood crate.

We first stabilize the base of the crate to ensure that there will be no movement of the machine during transportation.

We then add the vapor barrier wrap to the machine to give added protection from the elements.

Once the machine is securely protected with the vapor barrier wrap, we proceed to build the crate around it.

Before completing the custom crate, we secure the top of the machine. This is yet another way to secure the machine during transportation.

Once the crate is complete, we can add Shockwatch labels, stencil drawings, and even paperwork to make communication for transport more clear.

The crate is finished! And, we have even added a photo of the piece of machinery to the outside of the crate to allow for quick identification of the contents of the crate.

Call us today for your crating needs. We are experts in designing and building custom crates, trade-show crates, over seas crates, and more!
We service the entire state of Arizona and estimates are free!

Now CPR Certified!

Safety is a core value for us at Crating Technology. So, we decided to take things to the next level. Just the other weekend, Phoenix Fire Department was kind enough to lead us in an on-site CPR  certification class for our employees.

It was a very thorough and well presented class. Not only were they very clear in explaining processes, etc, but they gave great detail with the hands on instruction.

Each employee had to take the skills they were educated on, and perform them correctly. Since completing this class, we are proud to say that all of our employees are now CPR certified!

We certainly could not have done this without the help of The Phoenix Fire Department. Thank you!

Leonardo's Horse

You may be familiar with Leonardo da Vinci's horse, or better yet, "the horse that never was". But for those who are not, here is a short summary:

Da Vinci was commissioned in 1482 to create what was to be the largest equine statue in the world. The Duke of Sforza was the financier of the project.

Da Vinci created the drawings as well as the 24 foot statue, which was to be cast in bronze. But war broke out and the bronze was needed for the Dukes army. And, the enemy soldiers used the clay statue as target practice, basically destroying it. Leonardo never did to complete the project.

Fast forward a few hundred years. The original drawing were rediscovered. And since then, many artists around the world have created their versions of the majestic statue.

Recently, we had the honor to heat shrink wrap and prep one of these equines for transport.

With sculptures, transportation can involve high risk. Extra stabilizing measures are used to ensure safe delivery.

Devoted artists pour their time and talent into their creations. We are here to protect them.

Heat Shrink Wrap Under the Arizona Sun

Right about now always feel like the last leg of the heat marathon, if you are Arizona residents like us!
Although, it does seem that our hot summer season stays a bit longer each year.
And, with our sun and soaring temps, not only does one need added protection to preserve themselves, but their valued goods as well.

Our commercial heat shrink wrap is basically sunscreen for your goods.
The shrink wrap contains 5% UV inhibitors by weight.

We all know how quickly it can dry out and permanently damage wood.

If you happen to be in a seasonal profession, or maybe even lucky enough to take a long vacation, our wrap can protect your vehicles, boats, and more, from the elements.

The commercial heat shrink wrap can be done in our warehouse, or on-site.

It's a valuable tool to protect things such as:
Motorcycles
Boats
Engines
Sculptures
Vehicles
Idle equipment and machinery
Jet skis
Airplanes

The industrial shrink wrap is heated around the object. This allows us to handle shrink wrap projects of any size.

Let us know your needs. We are happy to provide an estimate for the industrial shrink wrap. And, we service not only Phoenix, but all of Arizona!
Thanks for stopping-

Transporting a Motorcycle Safely

Wether relocating across the country, or even over seas, chances are that you are taking your motorcycle with you! The time, labor, heart, and of course money, that go into customizing a bike, are just a few reasons you want it to arrrive safely.
So, where do you start?
The solution we offer at Crating Technology is just that: crating.
Crating motorcycles allows them to be properly prepped, tied down and secured for transport.
Below is an example of one of our favorites. When you see the custom paint job, you will see why!

We make sure all components are secure so that nothing comes loose during transport. The bike is also secured with tie downs.

Padded blocks are strategically placed to preventing the motorcycle from shifting during its transportation.

Foam padding is also added as an extra measure to ensure safe transport.

Can't say enough about how much we admired this paint job! Jimi Hendrix lives on!

Once the motorcycle has been securely prepped and fastened for the ride, the remainder of the crate is built.

Finished product! We prep and crate for both domestic and overseas shipments. Just let us know your crating needs. Thanks for stopping by!

Shockwatch and Tiltwatch Distributor

For most of our customers, tools to indicate any possible mishandling or impact to their equipment is of extremely high importance. This is one reason we are a distributor for ShockWatch.

As a standard, we offer our customers ShockWatch and TiltWatch labels. They can be affixed to the outside of our crates. They can also go inside if needed. If the crate/ product experiences more shock or tilt impact than it can generally handle, the indicator is triggered. Serialized labels are also a standard we keep on hand. It helps to deter any tampering of the labels.

The vial on the label changes color. This does not necessary mean the contents of the crate are damaged. It is just an indicator prompting for the contents of the crate to be checked immediately for possible damage.

Beyond labels we keep in stock, we can also order aditional Shockwatch products such as:

MAG 2000

As a distributor for Shockwatch, we can also offer our customers the MAG 2000.  It is cost-effective, resettable and reusable.

The MAG 2000 is made up of two tuned very sensitive magnets. As soon as an out-of-tolerance impact is experienced, the magnets are forced out of alignment. This indicates the angle and severity of the impact. It can only be reset with a unique key. A measure to prevent tampering.

ShockLog 208

When using a ShockWatch ShockLog 208 indicator, impacts and environmental conditions experienced by your equipment get monitored and recorded. This feature is applicable whether your equipment is in use, in transit, or in storage.
An alert activates to notify the owner of the device that damage may have occurred. This promotes immediate inspection of the equipment.
This is best for equipment that only requires recording on basic acceleration values.

ShockLog 248

The ShockLog 248 carries out the same  duties as the 208. But, it additionally measures and records up to 15 impact events. It also has an optional environmental sensor which can provide expanded product protection.

ShockLog 298

The ShockLog 298 monitoring device offers a more advanced, programmable impact and environmental recorder technology. It is a superior form of protection during use, storage or transit.

Just let us know if you have any ShockWatch or TiltWatch needs.
