Shrink Wrap Under the Sun

We had another productive visit in Tucson!
The job we performed down there was prepping and heat shrink wrapping of another airplane cockpit.

As always, careful details are put in to the prepping and securing of the item we will be working with. We also want to ensure the item is completely protected during the shrink wrap process.

Once the prep work is complete, the film is positioned. It is then activated using a propane torch to heat it up and allow it to mold to the object, offering complete protection. This heat shrink wrap protects not only from dust and dirt, but harmful UV rays as well.

Shrink Wrapping Precast Buildings

When it comes to our commercial grade heat shrink wrap, protection can be provided for more than just boats or other machines. 

This next project is a great example...

 

 

A client needed these precast buildings/ shelters wrapped and protected for future use by one of their own customers. Moving these buildings to an indoor location was not a feasible option. So, they decided on have them covered with commercial shrink wrap.

The entire building units are now sealed air tight. 

 

The barrier provides protection for the harsh UV rays from our Arizona sun. 

Each building was individually wrapped with the heat shrink wrap.

Industrial Boat Wrap

Heading out of town for the summer? Or just going to have limited boating time? This the season to start thinking about boat wrap!

This is another heat shrink wrap job we did for a boat that needs to be stored. 

First, the object is protected with a barrier wrap. 

Once that is complete, the object is covered with the wrap. Then, heat is applied with a propane torch. 

And now, the object is protected!

Escalator Heat Shrink Wrap

When starting in on large projects such as remodels or building expansions, a common issue comes to surface. The issue being: what to do with materials or equipment you either cant move, or prefer not to move? The solution: heat shrink wrap.

 

This is a great example we recently finished.

 

 

This was a job at Sky Harbor Airport here in Phoenix- Terminal 3 expansion.

New escalators were installed, but they needed to be protected while all of the other construction work is going on around them.

 

The heat shrink wrap material is generously laid out over the item to be wrapped.

We use as much material that will be needed to get the job done and deliver the level of quality our customers expect!

 

 

Edges are tucked and sealed or secured all the way around the object.

 

Now the process can be finished. The wrap is heated with a propane torch to mold around the object underneath.

Another angle is the heat shrink wrap job of the escalators.

 

 

Now, the builders won't have to worry about dust, debris, or any other elements damaging the new escalators. They can proceed with the terminal expansion!

Helicopter Cockpit Heat Shrink-Wrap

Sometimes, there are pieces of equipment that need protection from the elements. But, given time, space, or cost, the piece can not be stored indoors.

This situation is a perfect example as to how commercial heat-shrink wrap can offer a solution. 

Take this next scenario as an example. 

We arrived at the airport to shrink-wrap a helicopter cockpit on site.

This is the helicopter cockpit that needed the protection shrink-wrap offers. 

Once the item to be shrink-wrapped is secure, the process begins. The entire object is covered liberally in a shrink-wrap film. 

After that step is complete and the edges are secure, heat is carefully applied by hand with a propane fired heat gun. This shrinks the film to mold around the object. The piece being heat shrink-wrapped is in no way damaged in the process. 

And the job is complete! This industrial heat shrink-wrap material is not only weatherproof, but also protects from dirt, deterioration, and UV rays. 

The industrial shrink-wrap contains 5% UV inhibitors by weight. This is just another reason industrial shrink-wrap is a smart and cost effective way to protect items during storage or transportation.
