The CubeRinth Maximus is a three dimensional maze constructed using 1/2 inch Acylic sheets and features top and bottom peg boards, as well as three removable peg board shelves. The Acrylci Cube weighs approximately 450 lbs and is suspended by a steel structure, which allows for movement in all directions.
The CubeRinth Maximus by M3D is played by dropping a ball at the top of the maze navigating through each level to the bottom of the maze. Then, the Cube is rotated 180 degrees and the ball is navigated back to the top level.
The Maximus features 10 meters of neo pixels powered by SparkFun Red board and has a SparkFun LSM 6D Accelerometer, which is used to command the light effects and SparkFun MP3 trigger.
Story behind the CubeRinth Maximus-
The Gillespie Boys are three homeschooled boys who were introduced to the world of building, after they met Joey Hudy and his mother Julie, at a local Maker Faire in Mesa, Arizona.
They quickly began creating, and in 2014, they attended their first Maker Faire in San Francisco.
In September of the same year, they brought their CubeRinth Acrylic Maze to the World Maker Faire in New York.
In May of 2015, they introduced their CubeRinth Kits, the Original CubeRinth and the CubeRinth Minimus, at the Bay Area Maker Faire.
In 2014, they started Mx3Designs (Maker x3Designs), a kid centric group of enterprising boys who make and invent things. Their vision is to help spread the idea of making, inspire invention, and engage other kids, as well as adults, in the design process. We believe in the power of ideas, and that we ll have it within us to make the next great thing.
It is all ready to head to its next destination!
